Voodoo Mountain Gourmet Preserves

Our Story

I would probably describe myself as a self taught & passionate, experimental cook.  My kitchen shelves are always overflowing with fermented foods, kombucha, sauerkraut, homemade vinegars & cordials, chutneys, relish, jams and sauces!  I experiment with whatever I have in excess. My love for amazing flavour developed my habit of scouring books and searching for recipes to create flavours that danced and played with the traditional recipes, some of them very unique like the Mango and Stone Fruit Worcestershire Sauces.

My passion led me to creating my own small food business Voodoo Mountain Preserves.  I had no idea how it would evolve or be received, or even if it would work, but I knew I had to give it a go.  Nothing to lose right!  I got busy navigating the business side, establishing a food license, creating and cooking.  I put together my very first market stall at the annual Turkey Beach Tractor Bash loaded up with my jars of goodies and handmade labels and signs.

I nearly sold out! I was amazed.  It was apparent immediately that a huge customer base existed for local handmade, quality, gourmet condiments and sauces.  From that day on my little business has continued to prosper and grow.

You will find me at local markets most weekends, more often than not with Husband Dean and our fur child Walter Billy Goat with he’s skateboard.  Weekend markets have become a part of our lifestyle.  We both absolutely Love the chilled out, happy atmosphere, early morning chats with other stall holders, and most of all the amazing customer’s we meet from all walks of life.
